"Higher level managers apply the rules and policies in a non-uniform manner. Some employees get preferential treatment as they are allowed to take more time off without getting docked for it, while some employees are micromanaged with their time, even though these employees are full time exempt. Health insurance is a really poor plan and is self funded. The company only provides 2 weeks vacation to new employees, where existing employees got three. IT staff can't work from home either."

"Have worked for 3 years. The company operates by aquiring and leaving the subsidiaries alone, so each review may not reflect the overall experience. For mine, they very much focus on doing the same thing over and over, with little opportunity to take on new challenges or to move into new roles. Almost everyone moves on eventually since there is no mobility in the company."

"Company acquired by DENTSPLY Implants about 2.5 years. Now having been totally DENTSPLY-ing can say that the company is huge, very formal in all areas, waterfall-like. All decisions are made slowly and thoroughly. Sometimes this is uncomfortable but essential for strongly-regulated medical area."

"Get it in writing because you will hear a lot about benefits which will fall prey to budget pressures while executives rake in their bonuses."

"Dilbert-esce environment where touted employee value was debased by a reality where advancement requires accepting total disrespect for work/life balance."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Don't be so focused on protecting your own piece of the pie or building your own mini-empire that it prevents sharing goals with the rest of the team."

"There are no local growth opportunities unless you move to their headquarters."

"To keep up with latest technologies and develop new competitive and innovative products."

"When I first started it was less politically charged and the ways to get things accomplished were more straightforward. Also, the processes were more in alignment with each other from Corporate to Division to management. Now each seems to have there own agenda and do not really regard who it is affecting when implementing new processes."

"They will have to be someone that is very patient in regards to not thinking they can get a lot done quickly. They will have to realize that time to completion may take longer than expected."

What don't you like about working at Dentsply International?

"Too many systems and requirements between Corporate Parent, Division, and Management that do not align with each other."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Keep it simple and only require what is needed to accomplish objectives. Sometimes it is becoming so much to accomplish so little."

"At the time just fresh after graduation, it was an amazing job and opportunity where I learned a tremendous amount."

"I think it's very similar as the other however the company has done such a great job that the individual does not need to worry yet I would always recomend to ask a lot of questions and almost have a conversation to get a feel for the company."

What don't you like about working at Dentsply International?

"It was my first job, and so it met all my expectations, I really enjoyed every aspect of the job and the people I worked with."

"I think management has met all expecations and I would not improve anything."

"I had the opportunity to motivate people to buy products. I won a trip to Crested Bute for high sales."

"The key to be succesful at Dentsply is to motivate Doctors to buy products used for root canal therapy."

"Unfortunately, there's no room to move up the corporate ladder."

"I don't have any suggestions for management. It was a great environment."

"The group of people I worked with were professional and hard working. Despite serious personnel cutbacks and excessive workloads, they tried their best to complete their work."

"Don't do it unless you are seeking entry level experience to parlay into a future position with a reputable company in the same field. Dentsply is not a company that embraces entrepreneurial thought."

What don't you like about working at Dentsply International?

"Executive management is totally out of touch with operations. They are concerned mainly with their bonuses, stock options, and M&A activities. No ability to communicate with the people in operations."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Listen. Quit talking and listen. Get some experience in operations rather than just marketing and finance. Live up to the principles that you came up with that all employees should embrace. Apparently they are just words on a piece of paper to you."
