"I worked at Dell for 16 years and was able to advance my career, knowledge and ability to work in a corporate environment in ways that I never imagined. Dell is focused on the work life balance of its employees and I consider myself lucky to have worked for such an innovative and successful company"

Working at Dell in Round Rock, TX: 158 Employee Reviews

Technical Support Specialist

"I was working with Dell for 13 years and then on Feb 4th, I was one of 15,000 that Dell terminated. I was with Escalation Team and we took care of anything that came to us from Account Team to Basic and ProSupport teams."

"I worked for Dell for 10 years. The first 2 were great, where the work was challenging, and leadership was very dedicated in getting the best people networked, placed in challenging roles and eventually promoted. Over the last few years, it is a mess, with continuous mid-level management turnover, reorganization of resources, poor integration of acquisitions and product misses. The work environment is bleak with constant layoffs and rumors. The financial outlook is even worse."

"Great world class company. Sad to leave but due to corporate restructuring my department was reduced. I would consider working at Dell again if the right opportunity became available."

"I have worked for Dell for a little over 2 years and it was the best culture by far until they went private. I look forward to finding that same culture in the future."

"Dell management is the worst. There is no career at Dell, just compensation until you make the next layoff list. There have been so many that have joined the company only to be beaten down over and over again. I can think of at least 100 personally that have gone through this mentally abusive process. This is a horrible company in every way except they pay well."

"I've worked for Dell for approximately 7 years, with varying titles and responsibilities. While there are common aspects with most big companies that make the job difficult, Dell does have some real benefits that offset that, most notably, a real desire for remote work situations."

"I have worked for Dell since 1998. Overall, I would say it is a good place to work. It is challenging and they compensate you well. Many of my colleagues are very good - both competent and professional. While it is time for a new direction for me, I have no ill will for the company."

"Dell is a great company but it is not one I would recommend going into mid-career. They force you to start at the bottom unless you know someone on the inside. After hired on, in order to move up, you must wait a minimum of 18 months. Great for college grads, not for those 26 or older."

"It depends on where you work as to how you'll like the job. Some areas are more interesting than others and the stability of Dell as an employee is notorious for wondering whether you'll have a job next week."
