"Dell has terrible managers, bad leadership and a fundamental lack of consideration for its employees. While the people themselves at the lower levels are talented and good with which to work, they are all not being well served by the miserable lack of strategic leadership, the constant re-organization of the company and the use of lay-offs as the first measure to cut costs. I highly dissuade anyone from joining this outfit. Unless you're only in it for quick way to make money."
"Good company to work for. It was just time for me to go."
"I've worked at Dell for around 5 years and that was the one place that provided me the opportunities for my planned career growth. The diversity of technologies and the complex systems represent a very rich technology environment to learn and grow. Dell is also very interested in work-life balance understanding the need for its employee's health and personal life, and the impact on their work dedication."
"I have started at Dell at 2008, is really good company to work for."
"It is the best company to work for in my opinion."
"A great place to learn big company skills but a very difficult place to grow your career in their current transformation."
"It's always depend on what organization you work within this company or any company. In my case, the group I worked under was great."
"It is a big machine which can be frustrating at times. Often you find yourself spending most of your effort fighting inertia and red tape."
"Have worked for Dell on and off over the last 15 years or so (two 5+ year stints). People who work hard are recognized and move up. Have seen this many times. They compensate well. There are a lot of unknowns now that the company has gone private, so I don't know how that will change things. I took an early retirement package because it was clear to me that the trend is to ship test engineering overseas."
"I have been working with Dell since last 8 yrs and my experience is very good. I like to recommend this company to everyone."
"I've worked for Dell for more than 15 years. It is a good company overall, but there are pockets of management that do not seem to know the direction they want to go."
"I've worked for Dell Inc. since 2005. I began working in the manufacturing space, which is now being deprecated. The company is a large PC and server manufacturing entity with 100K+ employees worldwide.Dell stepped into the services market some 4 years ago by acquiring Perot Systems located in Dallas. We now provide IT services to corporations worldwide."
"Good job for recent college grads and looks great on a resume. Great place to make connections and people are great. Pay is below average for similar positions in the industry and opportunity for advancement is hindered by middle management. Very poor processes and often times overlays are unskilled with little or no experience."
"Dell is killing the salesforce with processes and outsourcing vital parts of the team overseas."
