1.8 Dayton Superior Canada had challenges, but for the most part was a very good company to work for up until early 2013 when the VP/GM was fired after 35 years with the company. Corporate lied to everyone and told us that he had retired. After that the Canadian operations went south big time and became a GONG SHOW. The new VP main interest is looking cool. They fired all the Canadian Accounting people who had worked there for 20 plus years and moved that department to the U.S. locations which had no idea about Canadian taxes and laws. One U.S. accounting person had the bright idea that you just buy a book on Canadian taxes and laws and that will make you an expert. Of course it didn't work and they had to bring back one of the laid off accountants for a few weeks to prepare all the paperwork to file to Revenue Canada. The lease was up on the Toronto location in Feb.2014, but Corporate hemmed and hawed for over a year on renewing the lease or looking for a new place. The landlord started in Dec. 2013 showing the facility to perspective renters while the plant workers still worked there. Manufacturing department was kept in the dark and only told if they move to another facility they will all lose their jobs as the new location will be turned from a manufacturing plant into a distribution centre. Everyone was kept in the dark and morale suffered big time as they thought since the place has a big for lease sign in the front and a real estate agent is showing the place to others that they must be closing the plant so staff would often ask management what was going on, but they never had any answers as he was kept in the dark also. This went on for a few months which killed morale. Corporate finally made up their mind in mid-Jan. to move facilities and close manufacturing. People who worked there for 20-30 years were treated with no respect. They had to extend the lease a few months as you can't move a facility in 2 weeks.

Work with the union to determine a compromise for Engineering to be more directly involved with the maintenance and repair of shop equipment and machinery that we are otherwise to diagnose/repair.

2.7 I worked for Dayton Superior for over three years. The sales team had a deep bench of knowledge in concrete products and forming. The new CEO came in four years ago with a five year plan to sell the business. The CEO has cut the sales incentives, raised budgets by as much as 20% Year over Year also and frozen base wages in sales. He has cut the inventory in half and sold off forming equipment at record rates. Morale with the reps and customers is horrible. Stay away is my best advice.
