"Benefits. Upper management has good intentions but middle management is the hurdle."

"Keep this as a last option... no latest technologies. Focus on just one product. No growth, very small place. Some people can be very challenging to work with. Middle management can improve a lot."

What don't you like about working at DataScan Technologies?

"It feels like you have to justify each and every action or decision... too much scrutiny and time spent on measuring every time you spend rather than focus on the actual work itself. Managers are totally of the reality grid or the problems faced by the team and not hands-on."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Trust your employees and build an environment of collaboration and respect of every job function. Provide some flexibility and don't hang a noose above the head of the employees."

"Too many rounds of layoffs occur. Sloppy software development. Too much overhead and waste. Need to have better quality on the software development side."

"Commitment from co-workers to company is good. Nice working facilities. Ok location. Knowledgeable managment and personnel."

"Are you ready to develop code without unit testing If so, then this is your place."

"Little opportunity for advancement in technology. To much dependency on foreign workers. Too much cat scratching from co-workers. Sloppy development work - too much dependency on QA testers."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Don't hire minorities. The local staff doesn't know how to deal with them. Let good workers move on to better things."

What do you like about working at DataScan Technologies?

"I enjoyed working with many of the people there -- there was quite a bit of both cultural and intellectual diversity. Also, you could always admit a mistake without fear of retribution. It was truly a learn from your mistakes atmosphere where others were always willing to lend a hand. Ideally, you wouldn't need this, but realistically, the need is always there."

What don't you like about working at DataScan Technologies?

"The main product was designed in haste to satisfy promises made to clients. As a result it was grossly over-engineered and parts of it were being re-written constantly. Much of the thinking was very short sighted."

"The company continually uses it employees. Make each person pay for things the company requires you to have with out compensation. 1000's of dollars a year."

"Automotive Finance down turned significantly hurt the business with hundreds of headcount eliminated."
