"Product worked great, but wasn't understood by Datalight marketing."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be careful here, it's a small company. The owner is clueless about marketing and sales, but he's a good guy otherwise. The problem is he doesn't realize he's hired a bozo to run marketing. It's a good challenge, but you may be frustrated."

What don't you like about working at Datalight?

"Marketing department was mediocre at best. They had no clue how to find customer or create demand for their software."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Fire the marketing manager and find someone that actually has experience and success at creating product demand. Oh yeah, they need to be technical too!"
