A crew member works for a company usually under the oversight of a supervisor. Crew members fulfill the basic functions of a company which usually consists of repetitious labor. Crew members are usually entry level positions at any company.
Skillset: Crew members often do not need a wide array of skills because they will most likely be trained by their supervisor or authorized trainer to perform the job description. However, a willing and positive attitude aids all crew members in fulfilling their roles. Crew members must also understand how to humbly take direction and work well within a team of workers to accomplish a larger goal.
Education: Most companies do not require more than a high school education or GED for an individual to qualify as a crew member. However, higher paying companies that intend for employees to grow and progress may require at least some college experience or a bachelor’s degree.
Career Path: Since the crew member is perhaps the lowest in the hierarchy of an organization, the path to gaining this position is relatively simple. A general education and ability to perform repetitious tasks diligently will most likely suffice. Lastly, crew members need to be dependable workers.
