"Covenant prides itself on taking care of their drivers; however, this could not be further from the truth. When drivers are on the road, our focus should be on driving, not our pay and finances being out of order, due to lack of organization and follow through of their administrative staff. It has been over 3 months and I have not received the $1,000+ in reimbursements the recruiter and training team agreed to pay back for upfront hotel and travel expenses. In the past 3 months, I have emailed, called, left voicemail(s), corresponded through the driver app with dispatch and even spoke via phone with covenant staff and have yet to receive these reimbursements. Within the past 30 days, I have sent out 6 emails cc'ing at least 4 covenant staff (including a manager) and have not received a response! This company prides itself on taking care of its driver, but they have now put me in a financial bind and still expect me to spend more upfront cost on HAZMAT and still drive, as if they don't care about the financial burden they have put me in. Employment is a social contract where the employee agrees to work and the employers agrees to pay for work being done. At this point, not only have they not followed through on paying me, but they have also had me pay for things, not paid me back and continually try to give me more loads. DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY. If the recruiter offers to "reimburse you", RUN! They will have your on the road, working for less than what they agreed on, all while your utilities are being turned off, because the payroll is $1,000 short. You've been Warned. - Chris McCain (A driver with Covenant Transport)"
