"I have worked for the Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector for the County of San Bernardino since 2018. I have found the culture to be enjoyable and pleasant however, the management is severely lacking. I have found working for an elected official's office to be more demanding and 'cut throat' than other departments I have previously worked for. While there is room for growth in this department, the areas or fields are very specific and require exact skills."
"Good place to work however funding does not allow for adequate technology upgrades and not forward thinking."
"This is the first time I work for a public entity and I love it. The County really takes care of its employees and everyone in county is a hard worker. I still haven’t met the “lazy” county employee everyone talks about. The county has processes and systems in place that do take time but they are in place in order to make sure everything is checked off and done correctly the first go around. I wish the county provided “remote” positions."
"It's been a good experience working for the ATC. Supervisor and coworkers were friendly and helpful."
"Great start for law enforcement but plan on working a lot of hours. Salary is great."
"I wish my skills were effectively utilized."
"Pros: More holidays and vac. days than most companies and flexible working schedules. Programmers can telecommute 2-3 days a week. Cons: Rarely any budget for training/developer conferences. The technology is usually a couple years behind the curve."
