"I’ve worked for the County of Suffolk for more than a decade. I have achieved unparalleled success; however, at the exempt level, absent meaningful political connections you cannot advance. Meanwhile, others less accomplished and qualified receive numerous promotions because they are related to legislators, etc. there was an ln expose of one individual in Newsday who received three Illegal promotions and 200k in additional salary. You can do some good as a civil servant but you will be underpaid and exploited absent political influence."
