"Dangerous work and not paid the best."
"Corrections is a very hard and tasking job. I do not see corrections as my passion. Purchasing is where I do my best and what I love to do."
"I didn't hate anything about being a corrections officer. What I liked about being a corrections officer was, I was firm, fair and consistent and I always did my job and for that, I was respected which made my job a lot easier."

"Insist on better training programs that are inclusive as to what you are actually doing."

"Lack of proper training, had to work 2nd shift and would have to work doubles a lot."

"Better training, better assistance from others during crisis situations, more support."

"Not the everyday office type job, and rapidly changing work environment."

"Keep your head low, and remain out of the spotlightas much as possible."

"Low moral, and a lack of support and trust from the higher echelon makes people unmotivated."

"Try to provide a more stable and consistent work environment and approach to the job."

"I would always have a job. People were always getting arrested. Never a shortage of prisnors."

"Be strong, dont make friends with the inmates. Always watch your back and pay attention to details."
What don't you like about working at Department of Corrections?
"Working with the prisnors. Getting spit on, or yelled at by them daily. Not having the safety or security to back an officer up if something happened."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Remember where they came from. Once a person received a promotion, its like they forgot how hard it was to work."

"Keep to yourself, don't make friends with the inmates, keep your head up and eyes open"

"The director was more worried about the inmates than his employees"

"Your employees put their lives on the line everyday, treat them with more respect"

"the shift I had which was 3 to 11 pm, the manatory overtime, and more"

"The Union president does not help the officers in difficulties"

"Management to me means doing your best for the company"

"My co workers. I have week ends off. I can take time off just about whenever I need to."

"Start putting money into the stock option as soon as you can"

"The lack of pay raises. Having to deal with other shifts not doing their job. The constant demand of questions and answers."

"I would listen to my officers more. I would be more involved."

"The experince. Learning different personalities and how to deal with them."

"Bring your best performance and be willing to go above and beyond the call of duty."
What don't you like about working at Corrections Corporation of America?
"I liked my job. I found something that I am very passionate about and love doing so I dedicated myself to it (technolgy). There was nothing I didn't like about the job."

"Get to know your employees, make yourself visible in the work environment. When employees feel that you understand them and know your availability, you receive a better work performance."
