"You definitely have to be customer service oriented, with a lot of patience, in dealing with a variety of people, and be prepared to not have your own personal work space, along with a very institutionalized type of environment."

"It was very statistic-centric, with little focus on the employee and their needs."

"I would have let management been more approachable in resolving issues, and posting updates in a far more timely manner to assist their employees in their positions."

"Not much. Money was needed. I was in high school."

"Everything. Mostly selling cheap stuff at outrageous prices to the elderly."

"Good benefits, generally good training, although we were always running into situations for which we received no training, tuition reimbursement."

"Don't unless you can't get anything else. Even then, take everything they say with a grain of salt."

"Cronyism, Management seemed to throw all these requirements out, and then make it as hard as possible to meet them. Also, management would sometimes outright lie. HR totally worthless. All the calls where I had to deal with problems caused by other agents."

"Mass resignation."

"Make sure to do some research into what it is that you are looking for. If its a customer service job call center job your looking for. You have come to the right place."

"There was no room for growth financially within company. The training skills programs were good."

"Listen to responses to daily employee issues."

"Dont mention your children. Realize that when you sign on for a job your salary could drop if you wanted to change to another job within the company."

"Convergys expects that you give up living for them. In a review I was told that I needed to learn that work doesnt end at the end of the work day, and that I needed to find a better separation between work and family, and then the same individual told me there was no separation it was all work."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Review how the companies management treats its employees. Realize that some people have children and lives outside of work and 15 hour work days are not supposed to be the norm for what Convergys pays."

"Convergys has sacrificed many good employees trying to make the HR Management Division profitable. At the expense of the rest of the company through downsizing and budget cutting, the HR division has sucked the life out of Convergys. Layoffs have been too frequent. Employees work in fear for their jobs."

"Build stronger relationships with clients and empower your employees. Address layoffs as a last resort."

"it was a good place to work but some of management worried about who they were friends with or just so high and mighty, they should not have closed down the Houston office cause I was really not expecting to be working anywhere else Convergys was the first job I had that I stayed at for so long cause I enjoyed being a part of that team"
