"It is great work, with the major downside being the industry is volatile. Video game companies haven't quite figured out how to work without ramping up employees only to lay a bunch off at the end of the year over and over. The work itself is challenging, fun and exciting, but if you really want to get into video games I'd suggest being a programmer instead. All the companies need programmers, few need content designers."
