Co-managers assist in hiring employees, supervising and implementing training programs for staff members, and working closely with executive management personnel to make sure a company runs profitably. On a regular day, a co-manager may work with human resources departments, look over profit and loss statements and meet with business lawyers. Sending emails, arranging advertising methods and ensuring the company store or office is kept organized and up to standard are also other common duties.
Skillset: Many co-managers are adept at using computer software programs to create finance spreadsheets to keep a company’s finances in order. Supervising shipping and receiving departments, building solid employee teams and creating business plans are also strong skills that are needed in this line of work.
Education: The education required for a co-manager will be dependent on the industry he is in, how much work experience the person has, and what type of business goals are desired. Many co-managers have business administration degrees on a bachelors or masters level.
