"The school was small, so I knew everyone I worked with. Everyone was approachable and wanted to do a good job."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Spend some time in the classrooms before you accept a job. Make sure you are ready to teach students from this demographic."

What don't you like about working at Comal Independent School District?

"Employees are treated very poorly. The new teacher in-service was long and very negative. The tech services people block a ridiculous number of websites. The district took forever to order the science equipment, so I had to teach without supplies for a while. Plus, I am used to working in city schools, so working with rural students and families was a huge culture shock for me. It is a completely different world."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Things seem to have improved since I left, so I think it would be a good place to be now."
