Sales Manager

"I enjoyed working more at Cine, the firm that hired me away from Color Film."

What do you like about working at Color Film Group?

"When I was employed here it was only called Color Film Corp. - Video Division. At my time of employment it was a large corporation of about 110 people in a large three story building on the Post Road in Norwalk. Now, it is a small botique about two miles away in Darien. I liked that as long as I was bringing in new business and keeping the existing accounts happy, I could handle things as I saw fit. I usually could handle most everything myself. I was taking regular trips of Boston and D.C. for example, for purposes of training staff members and taking them out on sales calls. I liked my first old school boss at the time."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"No, because it's not the same company I worked for about 12 years ago. I've heard that Blue Streak shares the space and they combine their efforts and strengths. If you know of someone interested in a position here......I'd be happy to intro them for you."

What don't you like about working at Color Film Group?

"Well, most everyone has left and the company is now run by one of the owner's sons. They sold the building I referenced above for a very high price. I guess I didn't like the company as it scaled down to a smaller sized operation. The four owners were very business wise and they actually rented the building to Color Film. In essence, they were a R.E. Brokerage. I would have to say that they were all very supportive and they appreciated me."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"There was really no reason to run this company at an expensive address on the Post Road in Norwalk (on the Darien line). I was hoping they would move upstate, possibly off Route 8 where labor and buildings/property was less expensive. I also thought we could move to Bridgeport to benefit in a number of ways. You don't manufacture products at a Post Road address. After 18 years, I was hired away by a competitor, Cine Magnetics."
