4Dear Hiring Manager
I have recently relocated to Sunnyvale to seek better opportunities. I originally graduated from UC Santa Cruz in 2018 Summer and out of interest for embedded systems, I went to work for a large Aerospace company in the midwest. It was a great experience, but it was just not for me, since I desire a faster paced work environment. I am trying to change industries to focus more on consumer market and enterprise products.
My Software Engineering contributions at my previous company resulted in the shipment of an embedded GPS receiver, from product requirements capture, SW development, to flight test and systems qualification.
Because of my experience with safety critical systems, I believe that I am an excellent candidate for a Software Engineering role in this field because I have high attention to detail and integrity.
4I had a lot of fun learning on the campus. I was flustered at the comments made towards me because I was just trying to do everything they wanted me to do. I was told to revise procedures then also told to troubleshoot different assemblies. I was let go because I was not alright with the comments made to me on the procedures. I should have run it through my supervisor before sending it directly to the technical writer, but that was completely my fault in lacking that foresight.
3I've worked for Collins Aerospace for the last 4 years. Prior to that I worked for its sister company, Pratt & Whitney; both companies are part of a conglomerate called Raytheon Technologies. I've been based in the Connecticut location, where I manage several products on a new aircraft engine. Work is challenging and rewarding. Only drawback is it's a large company and the aerospace industry is very conservative, so there is a reluctance to try new ideas.
