"okay Salary but can be improved to be more competitive."
"I am writing about my university and it has been a wonderful time working for my professors."
"I worked as a part-time employee in the Information Services and Technology Department at Cleveland State University. My duties were to troubleshoot and provide technical assistance to the university's faculty, staff, and students. I have worked for 11 months starting July 2019 to May 2020 while also working from home from April to May 2020. Though I have less experience in the Cisco networking part of the requirement, I believe that I am a fast learner and will adapt to any incoming challenges. I have knowledge about DNS, DHCP, LAN, and WAN in detail as I worked with full-time employees at my university for various projects."
"Great place to work, amazing staff and Manager."
"This was a student worker job so I don't believe the pool of candidates that might read this description would find the information useful."
"Create an profile in online jobs portal such as glassdoor, indeed, monster, etc, upload resume and search for the job profile you are looking for. Definitely you will get some company required matched with your profile and thats it, go ahed and apply for the position."
"I've worked in Cleveland State University's Parking department as an IT Customer Service Assistant for 8 months upto May 2019. Friendly work environment and supervisors."
"Good coworkers. Good benefits. Lose the upper management."
What do you like about working at Cleveland State University?
"My boss is very accommodating with regards to my schedule. My coworkers are great; we do things outside of work. The benefits are decent. Only after I take two one-week annual vacations at the end of the year does my vacation time dip under 200 hours."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Squeeze every last penny out of them for your initial salary because you aren't going to get a decent pay raise while working there."
What don't you like about working at Cleveland State University?
"The fact that upper management received pay raises (the new president gets $100k more just in salary over what the old president was getting) meanwhile the rest of us have salary freezes. Parking is atrocious. They keep closing lots and garages for new construction but jack up the price of parking passes. Human Resources is never available. One of my coworkers just went through a grievance process concerning pay adjustment. It took over 12 months for Human Resources to come to a decision."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Take a pay cut or freeze your pay just like the rest of the faculty/staff. Stop spending so much money on constructing new buildings and spend more on improving infrastructure and employee relations. Fire the head of Human Resources because it has been a mess in that office since he was hired. Fire the head of Campus Safety because he is too busy making things ridiculously over-complicated for faculty/staff/students."
