Submit a Review"I love making my own hours, and sort of being my own boss. I also love getting to talk with the growers and being important to them.I hate not having any feeling of job security for the winter time, and being able to plan for the future."
"I hate it. I'm basically trapped there because I have retirement and good benefits that I can't afford to lose. The goals are very unrealistic and they crack the whip if you get behind... they start threatening you if you can't stay caught up. But the only way to stay caught up is to work several extra hours per week, FOR FREE."

What do you like about working at Farmers?
"Flexible hours. There are not any other positives, unless you count that you're not working at McDonald's."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Don't! Run the other direction! Since Farmers slavishly follows any and all new business trends, they're very big on behavioral based interviews. Sooo, make sure you've brushed up on your BS-ing abilities before you walk in the door."
What don't you like about working at Farmers?
"Everything else. Extremely stressful, boring, repetitive job with claim loads that are not manageable and expectations that are extremely unrealistic. Constantly seeking to implement new ideas and improvements, but never seem to be capable of learning from those ideas that fail - they just keep implementing new things over and over. No communication between departments and even teams within the same department. Pay is significantly less than other insurance companies in the area."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"If you truly want to put the customer first then start with your employees."
