"I have worked for Citizens Bank for just over a year. It has been found that the company has great work life balance for it's employees and provides a wonderful compensation package with opportunities for commission. There are several opportunities to utilize your talents in different faucets of the business, and internal growth."

"Terrible management. People fail upwards. If you work hard and have a degree, you're stepped on. There's more managers than employees."

"My manager is terrible. She couldn't do the job she oversees if her life depended on it. She's fake and has no respect for personal business or personal space. She cannot lead. Her boss is rude and unprofessional. He insults his employees and is unaware of the processes he enforces. He also flirts with attractive women that work under him, he has even tried to get a male employee to take pictures of a young female employee. You don't get raises for your hard work and in order to move up you need to know the right people or be the favorite. It's not a positive environment."

"Sadly, branch banking is a cost that banks reluctantly tolerate until they figure out how to transition to a mostly branch-free world without too much upset. Think about it. Most people you know use their mobile device or website to interact with the bank. Branches are loss makers. Where are all these "commission" opportunities to come from? It's dead end unfortunately. Don't be surprised that they treat you badly. Branches are not required - you don't have to "try on" a bank account do you?"

"Pass on this company, waste of several years on my career, Constant changes in management, no clear or defined goals and objectives. Constant overlap of multiple teams working on the same projects. Just a nightmare.... a complete nightmare."

"I have been at this job for a little over a year. The company does anything they can to not pay you for your hard work on incentives. If you hit your goal, they increase them and make them harder to attain. For instance, on checking accounts, not they do not count towards your goal unless they are new to the bank checking accounts. Same with financial QKA, used to get 25 per qka, now they are changing that too. Our particular manager is the meanest person I have ever met. There have been customer complaints, employee complaints, employee transfers, employee resignations due to her. However the company does not care. They allow her to keep her job."

"I worked with Citizens Bank since 2011. The bank has a strong core of people oriented and friendly employess; they promote that neighborhood bank image. I was a customer before I was an employee and was always satisfied with the quality of service I experienced on both sides of the fence."

"Stay away"

What do you like about working at Citizens Bank?

"Very little. I originally liked the brand but when I learned they were not customer focused I no longer cared for their practices."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Yes, Citizens gives raises between 0 and .5% annually lately. They pay under market for their people and only give proper comp when you are coming from a competitor. If you need a place to pay for your training go to Citizens. Get all the training you need and then go take a job for at least 20% more than what Citizens is paying you at any other regional bank (which should be very easy to do). If you want to go back only now will Citizens pay market rate for your skills. They have almost a 50% turnover rate per annum region to region because they dont take care of their people. The number of people who leave and come back is not a testament that its a great place to work...its a testament that the employees know they have no upwards opportunity and with raises being almost nonexistent and insignificant when they do exist, the only way to get paid what you are worth is to force yourself back onto the open market. as a result there is a ton of turnover, little loyalty, and always staffing issues. Very disappointing."

What don't you like about working at Citizens Bank?

"They take advantage of their employees. There is always a reason not to pay out on goals reached. Every year they tweak the comp plan so the company wont have to pay bonuses out. They repeatedly violate workplace laws and require employees to work through lunch in the branches. They are aware of what they are doing and have paid penalties on this before but feel the overall benefit is greater than the penalties assessed. Its hard to have a family life if you work in the branches at Citizens."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"None really as they don't take suggestion. Its a tough business and they will continue to do what they need to and cut corners until they get a stiff enough penalty to straighten them out. My suggestion would be to those considering working there...to whom I would suggest looking elsewhere."

"They do not train for enough time"

What do you like about working at Citizens Bank?

"Helping the customers with something that they didn't know they needed. When the customer is really satisfied with you and they let you know and want to tell your manager. I also loved the managers there. They were all really nice. I also appreciate the free coffee and tea for the employees and the gym."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Dress professional and relax the managers there are really nice people. If you do get hired take lots of notes while in training and also ask lots of questions."

What don't you like about working at Citizens Bank?

"They offer very little pay rate for all the different type of calls you have to take. Also not enough resources to get the answers you need and the resource they have is very, very slow. I also did not like the fact that there was difficulty in finding parking."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"More training on business calls and loans. Higher pay rate. Less type of calls for example: no business calls if its not the business department. No online banking calls if it is not the online banking department and no password resets if we are not technical support."
