"It depends from group to group, for trading side I would say demonstrate a good attitude is more important than anything else, esp. if you are applying for an entry level position."

"Citigroup is a big company, as a result there is a lot of bureacracy and politics which unnecessarily distract people from doing real work."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Reduce the layers of management would be nice to start, right now there are too many people on management level and not enough doing the real work."

"Be wary of over-the-top promises made by the interviewer. Ask for specifics when given details about the duties you will be expected to perform."

What don't you like about working at CitiGroup?

"The culture of the company went from one of accountability to one where our individual accountability was to our direct manager; there was no sense of a collective corporate accountability for Company actions."

"Demonstrate the same level of dedication that is expected from rank-and-file. Be as transparent as one of the four guiding principles states the company is/should be."

"Management became very top heavy and it was confusing for the year or two prior the layoffs."

"The variety of project that I was given as an employee of Citigroup, I found to be very rewarding. I worked on the building of structured cable plant in a brand new 15 story office tower on the passive network side. On the Active Network side, I designed configured and implemented Cisco routers and switches in remote offices to the design and implementation of additional site to the Call Center ICM network."

What don't you like about working at CitiGroup?

"The personality of the company changed when Citicorp merged with Smith-Barney. They changed from a company that cared about its employees to treating employees as commodities."

"When you care about your employees, it inspires their loyalty to the company."
