"Management is doing an outstanding job. I feel very lucky to have been considered and brought aboard to be part of Citibank."

"I think compared to other big banks on the street, citI is more relaxed and people tend to make sure you have a work/life balance. People also are more willing to teach and help you develop your career."

"It depends from group to group, for trading side I would say demonstrate a good attitude is more important than anything else, esp. if you are applying for an entry level position."

What don't you like about working at CitiGroup?

"Citigroup is a big company, as a result there is a lot of bureacracy and politics which unnecessarily distract people from doing real work."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Reduce the layers of management would be nice to start, right now there are too many people on management level and not enough doing the real work."

"the work that I did: conducting internal audits of the Commercial Banking back office, documenting those findings, and working with SMEs to correct weaknesses in process or documentation."

"Be wary of over-the-top promises made by the interviewer. Ask for specifics when given details about the duties you will be expected to perform."

"The culture of the company went from one of accountability to one where our individual accountability was to our direct manager; there was no sense of a collective corporate accountability for Company actions."

"Demonstrate the same level of dedication that is expected from rank-and-file. Be as transparent as one of the four guiding principles states the company is/should be."

"Flexable work schedule. Telecommuter. Bi-weekly pay periods. Excellent benefits package."

"Keep personal working in their strongest skill set. Be sure to assit all direct reports to achieve personal goals."

"I worked on my own, persuing my duties as required and was able to take on other things that interested me. I had the freedom to work remotely as needed. The benefits were excellent."

"The company is very large. Try to get a reading for the department you'll be working in and the stability of it."

"Management became very top heavy and it was confusing for the year or two prior the layoffs."

"Loose the layers and focus more on what your employees are doing for you and the company"

"The variety of project that I was given as an employee of Citigroup, I found to be very rewarding. I worked on the building of structured cable plant in a brand new 15 story office tower on the passive network side. On the Active Network side, I designed configured and implemented Cisco routers and switches in remote offices to the design and implementation of additional site to the Call Center ICM network."

What don't you like about working at CitiGroup?

"The personality of the company changed when Citicorp merged with Smith-Barney. They changed from a company that cared about its employees to treating employees as commodities."

"When you care about your employees, it inspires their loyalty to the company."

"It was a great company to begin my working career in. Huge with lots of room to move around and be promoted"

"It is a very rigorous and structured application and interviewing process. Be prepared to go through a lot of hoops!"

"The size of the company made working their feel impersonal"

"During the three year analyst program, I would ask that management promoted more movement within groups to assure their analysts get a wider variety of knowledge"

"I work 40 hours in 3.5 days. Access to 401k and paid time off"

"The client is their main focus. Emphasize your ability to be customer service focused."

"I see no worth in my work. I cannot find a way to grow my career while maintaining a good work to life balance."

"More interaction with the team to bring direction and focus to their day to day job functions. Create team oriented activities so the employees feel engaged and connected to the company as a whole."

"The way that they let so many people go during 2008 through 2010. So much talent was just released and it slowed the recovery of the company from the financial crisis."

"Take advantage of the skills that your people possess. Use those to help rebuild CitI to its once great place in the financial world."

"It is an intense work environment, and very political as well. You have to be on guard all the time."

"Stop being so focused on covering your own butt and do some leading."

"Some of the people are really nice and management can be somewhat flexible. That's about it."

"Please do yourself a *big* favor, get out of that interview chair and run like hell."

"People are put in leadership positions who can't manage or inspire others; too many lazy people who ride off the hard work of others; treat their IT people like crap; and just a generally dreary, drab place to work. The word lame comes to mind."

"Make employees feel like they truly count and not not just play lip service to the concept."
