"I liked that I had a purpose in my work. I also liked working with teams of highly educated, qualified people. I liked providing direct services to veterans."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Let them know that you can see a lot of patients in a day and that you like to work collaboratively."

What don't you like about working at Veterans Health Administration?

"Overall the hospital worked at a very slow pace with lots of beaurocracy. I hated the red tape. I didn't like always following the chain of command system of authority and felt it promoted unskilled people."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I wish my direct supervisor would have been more dependable and had had better relationships with her direct supervisors."

What do you like about working at Department of Corrections?

"interacting with inmates on a daily basis, talking with them about their plans for life after incarceration. Leading worship services where personal expression was encouraged. Speaking with family members of inmates to find out what their needs were. Conducting tele-conferences with inmates and family members. Planning and implementing special days inside the facility, i.e. Hispanic Heritage Day, Voluteer Recognition Day, etc."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be honest about everything you say, especially background information that can easily be checkout. Have a heart to deal with people where you meet them, without prejudice."

What don't you like about working at Department of Corrections?

"As you might imagine working in a correctional facility could be daunting some days because of the interaction with people who have committed the most henious crimes. Having to inform inmates of family deaths and/or illness, and vice versa was not an especially happy time. Otherwise I always tried to look for the best in each situation."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Encourage those workers who might not have been as forward thinking to join the rest of us."

"Non Profit Organizations are not easy to work for. There are a lot of politics in an old organization."

"Old building and a lot of sick people, continually battling cold/flu viruses."

"I don't have suggestions, only that they continue to do the Lord's work as He directs the leaders."

"Current peaceful environment at All Saints. Task oriented which is excellent for a healthcare environment. Clean environment. Presents a good image of it's religious affiliation. The humanity and humility of its leadership. Value based and moral."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"There are changes currently going on in the system that may affect a new comer to take side or leave."

What don't you like about working at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare?

"The lack of encouragement to climb higher. The leadership mix excludes the minority. The moral differences I share with those I report to. The almalgamation with other Wheaton systems created created problems bothering on moral issues. It is affecting the rest of the department."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Mixing the leadership to include the minority presents a good image to the community we serve and makes a strong voice in advertizing our organization as a healthcare system that people can trust.While we do not have to discriminate, I do think that for religious institution to be true to its mission and values, its spiritual arm/department, especially, should reflect the teachings of its religious affiliation."
