4.8I'm honored to work at CERN, one of the biggest scientific organizations in the world. I was a part of the Data Acquisition and Trigger (TDAQ) group of the CMS experiment, where I worked with FPGAs. My work involved configuration and Booting techniques within SoC FPGA technology, building Linux distributions for their processor systems, and implementing Real-Time Machine Learning algorithms on them. Furthermore, I also contributed to the design of Real Time Muon Trigger System also known as "Scouting" that can scout the online data coming from Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at 250 MHz. The aim of the project is to build a prototype system for the replacement of Level-1 Trigger of the CMS experiment future. By gaining full control over SoC FPGAs, we can get rid of all the CPUs, lying in the underground CMS cavern.
4.4Company is located in Geneva, Switzerland. Great place to work. I have worked there at location for 3 months, however I currently work off location as an analyst and currently I model data for research. I would recommend for anyone wanting to be in an excellent workplace.
4.7I worked at CERN as a physicist for a couple months. The sense of community was apparent and the hierarchy of my research group was very diverse with almost half of the lead physicist being women. My supervisor put me on a project that was integral to the future of data analysis at CERN. I was constantly learning about the analysis process at CERN.
