4.4 I have worked with Carolinas Healthcare System for 6 months on a research project. The project was for my Master's degree. I worked offsite, at my university's lab. All the equipment and tools were provided by the company's research institute. We frequently got together to discuss the progress of the project. Since I worked as a volunteer, I had no salary compensation. Overall, it was a good experience working with them on the project.

Having HR report to the former CIO is a mistake. The department needs to go back to the control of the CEO in order to keep the ship from sinking.

3.2 This is a very traditional organization with very traditional views that make it difficult to truly change and innovate. The bureaucratic hurdles that you must navigate to get anything done are detrimental to actually accomplishing anything in a timely manner.
