Canyon Security Specialist & Consulting Employee

"The pay is excellent, you cannot find a job that will pay you this much for posts that other security companies pay way less for. As of writing this because they are in constant change right now, when you are at your assigned post you aren't micro managed you are allowed to breath. This company does make an attempt to please their guards by providing water and support if you don't know how to do something or if they have a new system that's being rolled out. I will say emphatically if they give you a chance go for Full-Time (1. schedule is out two weeks in advance 2. if your part time, you'll get little to no shifts 3. you are first priority and they take care of you better since you are canyon security first) A couple of drawbacks Organization is ran by former law enforcement, I don't have a problem with that but its something you should consider when communicating with them. One of the major issues I did come across is don't question anything about what you are suppose to do at a post (think of duty of a police officer) and just suck it up and decline to do that post in the future. Lack of communication and sometimes support- Communication can be sparse especially when it comes to posts, they do not communicate for instance what the post is entirely and the problems they've been having. So you could be walking into a situation where they are having problems with homeless or a certain alarm going off and you having no idea of it until the client or another manager tells you either later on in the shift or by you inquiring. Posts can be described incorrectly by the management. Before you take these assignments ask a fellow guard or research what you are signing up for. Another thing about this company as far as communication, is to watch how you communicate with managers. Honestly to avoid headaches and miscommunication of feelings its best to not question at all."
