Calder Casino & Race Course Employee

"I worked for Calder for over 15 years. The company was very progressive in the horseracing industry. However, Calder was purchased by Churchill Downs, Inc. a few years back and things have diminished ever since. The new owners ultimately decided that horse racing was not desirable as a money maker, but simply a necessary evil with regards to obtaining a casino permit. Once the casino permit was secured they decided to abandon their horse racing, including the termination of 300+ employees."
