Business Process Manager at Strongwell
in Bristol, VA

"I love the fact that we are integrating newer technology to support the business and overall operations. I don't like the fact that we are simply making up for lost years of not willing to keep up with technology. Strongwell operates with no debt which is a great thing in manufacturing but comes with a cost in not keeping up with technologies and methodologies."

Business Process Manager at Hayward
in Monterey, CA

Please give us a one liner to describe this review.

"Under new management and needing more new management"

What do you like about working at Hayward?

"Co-workers were an awesome group of people, fun to work with and I'm glad to know them"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I went through a lot of career advancements with Hayward Lumber and the majority of my time was a pleasant experience, however, I was the only employee in the company that saw much career advancement and the promote from within philosophy seems to have vanished."

What don't you like about working at Hayward?

"Most recent COO brought over all of his former employees, gave them big raises, cut benefits to long time employees and has lost the company millions. The big knock from me is being told we needed to take a furlough week because there wasn't enough money to pay wages and then looking to spend a few million to open a new yard in an unprofitable area after the furloughs were done."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Focus on getting back to being profitable in current markets before expanding into highly competitive and over saturated markets based on the advice of someone that has yet to bring in any profits"
