"The on-the-job hours, the additional hours for study and testing for certification are very misrepresented under the frequently used phrase "Quality of Life" vs. other construction manager positions in the industry. "Quality of Life" is supposedly better so as to offset the lower salary vs. construction managers. Inspections performed via an employee's vehicle - very high mileage. Certification testing (and the salary increase that is awarded upon passing) is scheduled when the company has a budget to afford the increase, not when an employee is ready for the test., therefore advancement is misrepresented."
