"Very good work environment, and most med level managers are good, there is an issue with senior management and their ability to deal with the home office"

"The working environment for Build.com is both upbeat and dynamic, which is great for preventing monotony. Supervisors are very personable and are always around if you're in need of help. I would recommend working for this company if you enjoy working in a fast-paced, energetic work space."

"I’ve worked for Build.com for over 3 years in various roles. The company itself is rooted in a sound premise, offering home improvement products to consumers and professionals with some of the best sales specialists and product knowledge in the industry. It started small and after acquisition by Ferguson has grown exponentially. With that growth has come some pains, namely in a stagnant executive team and changes in management. Some of the management changes have been excellent, others not as great, but the company itself still has a lot to offer new employees. Despite my own feelings in my position, I would still recommend Build for career seekers, just be receptive to sudden and sweeping changes."

"The work environment from the time I started at Build until the time I left was drastically different. When I first started employees were given a lot of free range with their projects and the manager I had was top quality, very supportive. Both of those qualities were reversed by the time I left. My supervisor was not qualified for the position in my opinion and lacked the ability to see opportunities. Near the end we were micro managed more and lost our freedom to think and work freely."

"The feel of Build has been best described as a frat house. Regular parties and Beer Fridays are meant to encourage a philosophy of work hard play hard. The CEO regularly walks through the building cussing at no one in particular."
