"An unsuccessful approach to Facilities Management"

What do you like about working at Beaumont Services Co.?

"The pay was great, there are a few loyal employees that make working in a large organization like Beaumont Services Co worth while. There is also some management staff that is supportive and caring for the well being of the staff."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Should you get an interview, keep your personal goals and aspirations to yourself. To stand a chance in succeeding after you are hired, become a yes man to the Superintendent level of management. Do not express any level of independence as this will only aggravate those who make decisions. On the other hand, if you are a good follower, this is a great place to work, follow the professional guidelines, and when you are unclear about any aspect of the position, go against your feeling that you are an independent entity, as you might feel in this organization as a matter of their operations, AND ASK ANYWAY. Then document what the answer was in writing. There has been occasion that some management staff will have left you to hang to protect their own interests."

What don't you like about working at Beaumont Services Co.?

"When someone would loose confidence in a decision made by supervisors, the course of action was to find a way to get rid of them, direct report subordinates were the main thrust of this kind of action. Additionally, instead of finding solutions to potential misunderstandings, the HR department would find or manufacture a way to use those misunderstandings as a way to discredit those in this kind of situation."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"LISTEN to your supervisors, perceptions are not always correct. Bias is a part of every man and women's personality. Not all reporting are two sided nor are they always honest. Consider making an unbiased review of issues as they relate to staff and management. POLITICS is not an option for success, team work- REAL team work between management levels are the only realistic approach to successful conclusions for the client. Clicks, sects and deliberate exclusions are, and should be exclusions as goal principles."
