"It was a challenging but necessary career step."

What do you like about working at BluePrint Automation?

"I enjoyed the opportunity for travel, the professionalism of my immediate peers, and the open door policy. I cherished the satisfaction garnered from contributing to the success of the end product."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"As with any job interview, I would recommend extensive research and a healthy gut check. Contact current and former employees, customers, vendors, and peers in the region for candid insight. Ask about why a position is available and what kind of person they are looking for to fill it. Negotiate from the understanding that the corporate structure is currently flat, raises of 1-2% were common place, and overtime was expected."

What don't you like about working at BluePrint Automation?

"I was disappointed by the interdepartmental infighting, the anemic corporate culture, and the lack of employee growth opportunities. Haphazard scheduling, inefficient processes, and the lack of accountability tarnished far too many projects."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would suggest an extensive overhaul of all personnel, policies and procedures with the explicit goal of preserving talent, growing culture, and eliminating waste. I would encourage management to facility their expectations of productivity and flexibility by investing in productivity enhancing infrastructure, and promoting flexible work policies. I would further suggest that sales, applications and project management be incentivized for accountability and overall project success. Finally, I would implore management to recognize fear, opacity and overbearance as ineffective and deprecating tools."
