"Blue Origin is of course high profile in new privatization of space. Their forte and greatest strength is their engines, all innovative and proprietary designs. The work environment is moderately friendly but middle manage usually only interacts with teams when there are problems, I think this is missing an opportunity. Their SMEs are first rate, especially in propulsion, structures, dynamics but some of their specialized SMEs (radiation protection, materials science) lack necessary functional experience and this results in more missed opportunities for collaborative work. Their future lies, in my opinion, in engines and control systems."

"Think long and hard. I was excited initially. Who wouldn't be Don't let the outside perception influence what's really happening on the inside. My former colleagues are keeping an eye out for other jobs if that tells you anything."

What don't you like about working at Blue Origin?

"Management. It is a very toxic, disorganized, and stressful environment."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Treat your talent as people. You hired me and the majority of my coworkers for your dream and a common mission. I observed others, as well as myself being belittled and talked down to. You can only push people so far before they quit. You give us deadlines for projects and throw some of your most talented people under the bus when we try to present issues. When we are ahead of schedule and give you glowing results, noit so much as a thank you..."
