"I worked as a Systems Engineer contractor at Bloomberg for approximately 8 months. I met and worked with some great people who truly knew what they were doing, and for that I am grateful. However, I was shocked and utterly flabbergasted at the antiquated and primitive manner in which business was conducted. Quite frankly, it was as if they had stopped developing in the late 1990s, either due to no need to improve further because of their market position, inability to do so, or both. They were just starting to implement technologies that were standard five years ago. The tech debt Bloomberg has to work on is staggering."

"Let people do their jobs and do not micro-manage. The ratio of non-technical managers to developers is quite high."

"Money is good after you work there for a while. Company does not believe in letting people go unless absolutely necessary."

"If you are looking for a place to grow go somewhere else. If you are looking for a place to come in and do a job and basically retire there with a decent to good paying job then just make sure you are a social yes man"

"The opertunity to grow and be promoted are limited and since most people are kept you tend to work with a lot of non qualified people."

"Get managers that are better educated especial those who know more about project management and work place relationships."
