"I worked as a Systems Engineer contractor at Bloomberg for approximately 8 months. I met and worked with some great people who truly knew what they were doing, and for that I am grateful. However, I was shocked and utterly flabbergasted at the antiquated and primitive manner in which business was conducted. Quite frankly, it was as if they had stopped developing in the late 1990s, either due to no need to improve further because of their market position, inability to do so, or both. They were just starting to implement technologies that were standard five years ago. The tech debt Bloomberg has to work on is staggering."
"Bloomberg is very good over all"
"I've worked at the company for 15 years. Over the years, the company has become much more cumbersome than it used to be and getting changes and improvements executed have become much harder."
"I have worked for Bloomberg LP for the last twelve years. My role as an equity analyst has allowed me to gain exposure to both the financial along with the technical side of things. Providing quality assurance of financial data and working to help streamline our applications for users has been the highlight of my career."
"Laughably outdated technology in use, in some case decades behind modern IT practices, contractors such as myself were treated like second class citizens due to lack of autonomy and access, the open office environment was a constant dull roar, hence why so many people resorted to noise cancelling headphones to actually get any work done, etc. I regret having worked here."
"I worked at Bloomberg for 16 years and I am proud to have represented the firm. Bloomberg gave me the ability to lead, manage, open new business groups, be an adviser on credit risk board and implement the global sales process that I developed. I was the #1 sales person in commissions generated for 2 years and repeatedly won respected enterprise salesperson interacting within the firm producing over $2M in additional revenues."
"I worked at Bloomberg for close to 20 years. I found it to be a great learning experience for someone who likes the financial markets. It has a competeitive atmosphere and pays well. I would recommend a job at Bloomberg as it exposes you to a talented set of individuals."
"Friendly comfortable place to work with good people at all levels. Great snacks"
"Great company and great team!"
"Bloomberg LP is a fantastic company to grow and develop in. Bloomberg is involved in all facets of the financial markets and has the luxury of being able to take risks based off of past successes."
"The job was good. The people there are very bright and well knowledgable about the work that they do. However there is a lot of politics involved. Too much inner tension that can affect the efficiency of work being done."
"Although I did not realize it in the beginning, my job at Bloomberg allowed me to not only deepen my knowledge of financial concepts, but also to practice my interpersonal skills such as patience, team collaboration, and easy-to-understand communication. I was fortunate to work with coworkers who were willing to help each other and managers who helped find ways to help me succeed in the workspace."
"Bloomberg is a great company to work for that offer their employees ability to continue to learn and grow. As an employee, you have the ability to define your own path within the company. The company's ethics and code of conduct are one of the best in the financial services industry."
"Good luck. Good luck. Good luck. Good luck"
"I have worked at Bloomberg Tradebook for 14 years, it was a fast-growing company with great management and great job opportunities. The business was recently sold to a large broker."
