"Bloomberg is very good over all"
"I worked as a Systems Engineer contractor at Bloomberg for approximately 8 months. I met and worked with some great people who truly knew what they were doing, and for that I am grateful. However, I was shocked and utterly flabbergasted at the antiquated and primitive manner in which business was conducted. Quite frankly, it was as if they had stopped developing in the late 1990s, either due to no need to improve further because of their market position, inability to do so, or both. They were just starting to implement technologies that were standard five years ago. The tech debt Bloomberg has to work on is staggering."
"Bloomberg is a pleasure to work for, precisely because it's a priority to love on their employees."
"Not much more to say. I think it might be a good company for young technical employees with no experience, or for ones who have been around for a while and have a lot of skills in legacy systems but I think anyone else would do better at a more progressive company."
"I hate to say it but while the company has a lot going for it, it's just no place to be a technologist."
"Great company, old technology."
"Good company using old technologies."
"It is an amazing company to work for but if one wants to climb the corporate ladder it is a very, very, very slow process that might discourage anyone.Bloomberg takes care of their employees and it is the leader in financial tools and data, but if you have an entrepreneur spirit it is not for you."
"A pantry of free snacks is not a reason to work for a company. Bloomberg demands long hours with insane travel amounts for their employees. Their targets for growth and compensation are not in line with the work they demand."
"Great company that is growing and they always have a lot of equipment from different vendors for you to learn and practice on."
"Great fast paced work environment. But sometimes managers can become hard task masters."
"Bloomberg is a fast moving and driven company. It has grown rapidly in the last 5 years that I have been with the firm, and is seeking new business opportunities to grow. Bloomberg offers generous benefits and above market pay. There is a driven management and high standards to be accountable."
