The CareerBliss data used to find the happiest highest paying jobs evaluates key factors that affect work happiness including one’s relationship with their boss and co-workers, their work environment, job resources, compensation, growth opportunities, company culture, company reputation, daily tasks, and job control over work performed daily.
“Once workers have their basic needs met by their income, incremental dollars do not necessarily mean incremental happiness. Many factors beyond money drive career happiness for workers who make above $75,000 a year. Workplace culture and having control over your work environment are two key themes in the data this year,” says Heidi Golledge, Cofounder and Chief Happiness Officer of CareerBliss.
“Although Marketing Managers were not the highest paid career on our list, they had the highest BlissScore,” continues Golledge. “Money does not always buy happiness; factors such as company culture and your role at work have a lot of impact on how you feel about your career and therefore your happiness.”
