Companies That Are Hiring Now, Despite COVID-19

Posted March 30, 2020

The spreading coronavirus pandemic has taken a terrible toll on so many lives, in so many ways. In addition to the devastating mortality rates, it’s also put a major strain on the economy and on individuals (and their families) who now find themselves out of work.

But even when things look bleak, it’s important to keep your eyes forward, looking to the brighter future. Just because you’re currently home-bound (for the time-being) doesn’t mean you can’t be strategizing your next career move. In fact, you totally should be doing so!

Companies are hiring!

Even as many companies have closed their doors until this pandemic passes, there are several companies and industries that are flourishing--and hiring. But don’t worry; more companies than ever are turning to video interviews in their commitment to stopping the spread of coronavirus through social distancing and self-quarantines.

The good news is that once lockdowns and quarantines are over and the world returns to normal, companies will be looking to get back to business--and that will likely mean ramping up their workforce. But even now, with many businesses closed, some companies are looking to hire a remote workforce, while others, like Amazon, are thriving and looking to hire 100,000 full-time and part-time workers for their fulfillment centers and delivery networks.

Giants like Amazon and Walmart are hiring thousands

Walmart is also looking to hire 150,000 people for their stores, clubs, distribution centers and fulfillment centers.

These companies, like many, are helping ensure that people have what they need as so many shelter-in-place during this time. They are also helping employ people and preventing a complete shutdown of the economy, thanks to the “essential” nature of their business.
