"I worked for Bessemer Trust for over 12 years. I watched it deteriorate from a supportive, collaborative environment to a fear-driven nightmare. There are very good people working there, but the senior management has changed it's priorities to reflect it's super high-wealth clients' point of view. I would not recommend working there."

"I have some exposure to new technologies. My commute is short, hours are fairly flexable and I have good relationships with my co-workers. My health care, profit sharing and other company benifits are top notch."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be prepared for a long interview process if you plan to persue a position in the server group. Knowledge in VMware, SANs and Linux is big this year. Knowing how to deal with auditors is always a plus."

What don't you like about working at Bessemer Trust?

"Goals set by management are not carreer enhancing. The organizational structure is limited in that you can only go so far up the ladder."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Focus on more positive reinforcement for your team members and less on negative feedback. Be more receptive to employee feedback and trust their technological expertise. Be willing to let go of your own preconceived notions of how a task or goal should be accomplished and allow that team member to worry about the details. DONT MICRO MANAGE."
