What do you like about working at Benchmark Education Company?

"Great teamwork existed during my tenure at Benchmark. Also I gained valuable experience handling a variety of tasks. There were moments of good comraderie at holiday parties and other times to celebrate accomplishments. Many competent and congenial people at Benchmark Education."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"A good place to gain valuable experience. If you have the right temperment you might even build a pretty good career at Benchmark. Its not for everyone, but their product and market creates a winning edge."

What don't you like about working at Benchmark Education Company?

"The atmosphere can be very volatile at times. One of the owners is very tempermental to say the least. as this person can scream at the drop of a hat. When I worked at the company, the policy on performance evaluations was poor. They allowed themselves 23 months to evaluate some employees and this caused a big issue in many cases. Senior management needs to reach out more constructively to its employees to make the perform better rather than overly multi-task. Although there is a diversity of employees ethnic wise at Benchmark, I did come accross a few questionable comments made by senior management in that area during my tenure. A human resources person was hired after I left the company. It is hoped that the organization has made strides in that area."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"It seems as if the Human Resources VP addressed some of the key issues pertaining to establishing a more comprehensive Benefit Plan. Hopefully some improvement was made in making the environment less volatile, more sensitive, and most definitely in establishing a concrte employee performance evaluation process. More concrete goal setting should be established but this is a problem for many company's the size of Benchmark Education. Should these improvements take place, Benchmark Education could sincerely become a great place to build a career."

"One can wear casual attire. It's a small company so there is little red tape to deal with when getting a project done."

What don't you like about working at Benchmark Education Company?

"Limited growth potential."
