"I love most of my co-workers. Can't wait to find another job though!"

What do you like about working at Bed Bath & Beyond?

"I really love most of the people I work with and a good majority of the customers I interact with and help. They make work fun and bearable."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"They're going to tell you the latest you'll work is 11 PM. This is somewhat of a lie because sometimes you're stuck there until midnight or later, especially during the holidays. Beware of the kiss-ass mentality. I guess that goes for all jobs, but it seems really bad at BBB--especially when corporate rolls into the store. Also beware of managers who think they're a worthier human being than you are simply because they're retail managers and you're just a little part-timer. If you're going for part time, they may start you off at 20-24 hours a week, but that could all change depending on whether or not the higher ups are making enough money. I mean, that's what it comes down to, right? They need to keep making their millions cuz if they only made a couple hundred thousand a year, life would just be *unbearable*."

What don't you like about working at Bed Bath & Beyond?

"I hate the way managers think they're above you because they're managers at a big box store. The corporate idiots are even worse. They talk down to you like you're some kind of moron, when the only difference between me and them is that I was born intelligent and they had mom and dad buy them their education. There's no room for advancement unless you kowtow. The hours are terrible (what little hours I get). Since everyone's hours in my store have been cut, there aren't enough people on the floor to help customers. We (the employees) are unhappy about this and customers are even less happy about it. This company is supposed to be all about the customer service. It's their motto! But BBB isn't all about the customer service. They're all about their bottom line and that's *it*. The store is cold in the winter and *so* hot in the summer. Customers complain about how hot it gets in our store. But we can't do anything about it because the store temp is controlled by... yes, you guessed it: corporate headquarters. They're cheapskates. What company allows their employees to sweat terribly in the summer and freeze in the winter? I can't stand some of the customers. Rude people who practically have temper tantrums when we don't give in to their ridiculous requests. To be fair though, most customers I help are very nice. You literally *cannot* go to the bathroom without letting the manager on duty (MOD) know. They ask you to call it out just in case there's a fire or something, but really I've *never* worked somewhere where you couldn't go to the bathroom without telling a MOD first. I hate all the constantly changing, arbitrary rules. Not only are they always changing and totally arbitrary, but different managers tell you different things, so no one is ever on the same page about how things need to be done."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"You should support your staff and fight to get people more hours. They don't pay me enough money to live on. Like, I literally can't always afford to go food shopping. Bet the CEO and other higher ups don't have that problem! How is that acceptable? How do you live with yourself knowing some of your employees can't even afford to buy groceries? How is that okay?"
