What do you like about working at Barrios Technology?
"The aerospace industry is interesting. The pay is decent, and time can be flexed to meet personal schedules."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Don't expect too much and you'll do fine. I'd also recommend not staying too long; get some experience and then move on! There isn't much room for growth, and if you aren't related to the CEO or someone at NASA, then your career potential is pretty much dead in the water. If you're approaching 40, be prepared to be laid off when the next round of cuts comes along."
What don't you like about working at Barrios Technology?
"Favoritism, especially for those who are on your team and are related to NASA civil servants. It really doesn't matter how much experience or education you have; if you aren't in with the boss or lead, forget being assigned to special projects or being recognized for a job well done. HR does not like controversy, so if you have a complaint about another employee, watch out if they are on the boss' good side. This company also has a habit of laying off those over 40 in large proportions when the contract is up."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Find ways of using employees' strengths, skills, experience, education, and input to improve morale and foster a more positive work environment. I'd also encourage continuing education among the team members because there is always something new to learn, especially for managers and leads who are often put in their positions because of seniority rather than experience and people skills."
