Senior Hardware Design Engineer

"The last site manager pushed the Toyota lean initiative and lead the site down the wrong path and eroded the long established profitable performance of the site."

What do you like about working at BAE Systems?

"The site until recently has been well run by the old management team from the GE days. People worked as a team and for the success of the company."

What don't you like about working at BAE Systems?

"The site has changed so much in the last 5-6 years with managers hired from outside who does not know or value the contribution of long term employees. Under Sean Bond's misguided ambition, it ruined the long and well established record of the site as the star producer of the division. It is not the same company any more."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Go back to the fundamental that made the site profitable just years ago. Too top heavy. Too many people in management. Stop favoring new hire over long term employees who has contributed to the site for years and has loyalty towards this site. A company with the reputation of replacing long term employees with good job performance and pension with new hires with no pension plan will not attract young talents to stay and be committed. Any investment the company made in the training of the young hire will be lost."
