"Great NP model/concept, but poorly executed and did not have appropriate clinical input. Each long-term care facility has it's own culture and executing a new program like this takes time and preparation of facility staff. This was never done appropriately. Unable to practice independently, focus was more on state survey that patient needs and improving quality of care. DNS and administrative teams were basically practicing medicine with minimal medical director oversight. Nursing staff craved positive nursing leadership. Very overworked, underpaid staff. Administrative staff very underqualified for the responsibilities they have. Avamere benefits for a provider group were very poor. Restructured program without provider team input. Made achieving bonuses impossible. Did not support the clinical team in doing the very basics of the job. Not receptive to change. Avamere hires a lot of family members, and a lot of nepotism results. They look for loopholes to increase profits; highly unethical and questionable business practices. Overall just not a professional company, but have the potential to be with the right players/talent."
"I loved working for Avamere and wish I did not have to leave."
"Very poor managment, little forsight into future opportunity, upper managers (Admin + RD) take credit for others ideas and work"
What do you like about working at Avamere?
"My view is a little tainted due to the Administrator and RD, taking credit for work I accomplished, while setting me up for a fall. I very much liked the personnel"
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"avoid them at present, they have had an upheaval in managment, so I am sure upper managment will be worse than ever at taking credit, backstabbing, only support you when they can turn it into their ideas"
What don't you like about working at Avamere?
"Too many politics, too many upper managment playing games/ politics to really see what opportunities lie ahead"
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Embrace change and leadership, do not squash creativity or new ideas"
