"Very competitive workplace"
"The working environment is toxic at best. Upper management is now open to new ideas and the financial department hides shortcomings."
"Very hard to get ahead even when your work is excellent. Very close knit clicks and favoritism to certain employees."
"The compensation provided here is the only benefit the company has to offer, but ensure you get what you want upfront because there has been no opportunity for advancement. Interdepartmental communication is a major hurdle here and the leadership is only concerned with their individual issues, there is no "one team, one fight" mentality here. It is very much an "every person for themselves" and a "who you know" environment."
"I worked for Austal for over two years and under the direction of Joe Machini the job was pleasant as well as exciting. Once that director was let go our department became fragmented and too busy to properly handle. Our IT Staff was not housed together and it made communication very difficult because on Systems Admin was in a particular building and the other was in another part of the facility. Now half of the IT staff has resigned because the working conditions are going down hill rapidly."
"I am very impressed with this strong, global defense contractor. The helpful management communicates the job objectives, requirements, and milestones very effectively."
"I worked with an impressive team of skilled I.T. staff that were not only knowledgeable but also loyal to the company as well as their co-workers. I would be very happy to work for the company again in the future and would refer anyone looking for a job in their particular field to this government contracted manufacturer."
"Austal is a good interesting place. IT has very diverse challenges JHSV contract. They are working to develop this."
"Insightful"
