"The overall company is great! Although individual departments come with their own set of politics, that may or may not be compatible with an employee. It's a great family environment."
"AWG is a cooperative owned by the supermarket operators it serves. The company does a very good job of providing goods and services at a competitive cost. I found that the culture was very old school, not much diversity. There was no clearly defined way to advance your career. Performance reviews were not shared in writing. Their investment in technology is easily 10 years behind the industry. Their primary focus is on expense control and any fluctuation in sales results in immediate staff cuts"
"I have worked for AWG for 8 years and have seen this company do nothing but promote record profits. All while cutting departments, employees and services to across their multiple divisions. They have put salary freezes on almost all employees company wide so they can no longer get raises. They have also put more restrictions in place to make is difficult to get equipment. All the management of this company seems to care about is recording record profits so they can have bigger bonuses."
"I've worked for Associated Food Stores for several years and would consider staying if pay compensation was better. I enjoy working for the company and the people."
"AWG is a growing company with a lot of potential. I can only speak of how my department is precieved, and there is a lot of opportunities. There are very dated points of view on advertising and marketing. My hopes is find a company that is more open minded and accepting of new ideas."
