"A good place to start your career with."
"I interned with Amazon from June - September 2019. Amazon is at the forefront of digital transformation and has a large repository of tech jobs that always need to be filled. Though there is a lot of decentralization and many sub-organizations and product teams have different work cultures, they manage to come together to execute critical projects. They strive to always work with the 'Day 1' mentality."
"AWS is a rewarding, but challenging place to work. You will be immersed in its services and learn how they integrate to form whole solutions. If you are looking for a face-paced work environment, a place where you learn very quickly -- this is the company to work for."
"Review of Amazon in Seattle, Washington."
"AWS is a great company to work for, especially if you are looking to cut your teeth on novel, never-before-seen issues. This is something I personally valued as an attorney, since I chaffed at the notion of relitigating (not literally) the same questions repeatedly. If you like to learn and be curious, this is a good company for you. The only downside is, sometimes, managers don't always prioritize professional growth. Thus when people succeed and want to challenge themselves further, there isn't always a clear pathway up or forward, so it feels like a lot of lateral movement."
"Amazon is a company that runs on metrics. Making sure you get your job done diligently and in a timely matter is very important. There are leadership principles and standards that are required by every employee that are not only helpful in the Amazon world but can be carried into every career."
"Really smart people, a lot of opportunity for growth, always encouraged to be innovative, think big, and create something new. Competitive salary and benefits with other major tech companies. 100% self motivating work environment. No dress code and 4 legged friends are welcome."
"I've worked for Amazon Web Services since 2017. Amazon has a positive atmosphere that allows employees to grow professionally. The environment is massive, which allows you to work with people from all walks of life with diverse backgrounds. Expectations are high, as the company strives for nothing short of perfection."
"I like working for this company so much I have actually done it twice. They allow room for growth, and promotion of employees."
"I worked here as a summer intern in 2019. The workplace environment (the office) was really nice. The team I was assigned to was a new team, hence the more stressful lifestyle."
"I have worked in AWS for three years. There are very smart people working with you. It really helps me improve and grow fast."
"Good place to work overall, unfortunately my team got restructured during the last couple of months of my contract with the company making it difficult to get hired on. This also coincided with a new manager who micro manged and wound up at times costing productivity. This unlike the standard Amazon manager or employee, and should be taken as an unfortunate and unique circumstance that is not conducive to the overall Amazon workplace environment."
"Amazon Web Services was a good company to work for. They had great pay and benefits, and the work was not that hard. There was a very easy going relationship between my bosses and myself."
"Excellent company, even better business. Highly challenging (double edged sword)."
"I've worked for Amazon Web Services for the past 2.5 years in Support. I don't plan on staying long term, and this is mostly due to compensation. My team has also had 3 different management changes."
