They are very entwined with the local community partnering to improve and grow forward. The offer a 37 hour work week and have excellent all office mixers. The people at the company second to none."

What do you like about working at American Equity Mortgage?

"I like the challenges I get on a daily basis, and being able to help people improve their overall financial picture."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be willing to be taught and molded, also be yourself and be outgoing. Always stay instense."

What don't you like about working at American Equity Mortgage?

"Underwriting guidelines can be very strict and it seems that some of it is uncalled for."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"More communication from underwriting. Currently the system in place we are using for this measure-isn't the best. A lot of room for improvement."

"Fast paced environment. Always an opportunity to make another sale."

"Make sure you are motivated to make 6 sales per week. Because with the potential fallout from appraisals, one would have to sign more loans to make a decent living."

"The volatility of the market. We can not control or determine the appraised value of homes."

"None. They do a great job. The goal is to make more money, and the management style encourages this."

"management didn't know how to motivate their underwriters to do their jobs. Loans took five weeks to close as opposed to five days at my previous employer."

"the company is out of business."

"The best part of working at US Equity had to be the opportunity to develop talented sales individuals and mold them in to bright stars."

"No. I believe they are no longer in business."

"Mismanagement of marketing dollars by the CEO. It seemed that my department always received the cuts of funds and we generated all of the revenue. This is what eventually lead to my resignation."

"The original owners, unfortunately, decided to retire. The new owners had different a different direction in which they wanted to take the company."
