"For being such a large and profitable software company, IBM isn't very good at building successful software teams. The company is not great at creating the most productive environment in which to write software."

"The focus seems to always be upward at IBM rather than downward. The company would be more productive if there was more focus on the value at the bottom of the reporting chain."
