Application Engineer
in Farmington Hills, MI

"Was a good place to work for the time being but the only way you were going to move up is if someone quit, got fired or retired."

What do you like about working at ACE Controls?

"Had the ability to work with design engineers worldwide to help them select industrial shock absorbers, gas springs, bumpers that would protect their manufacturing equipment from damaging end stops. The customers were really grateful for the work we did for them. Was 1 of 2 applications engineers for a worldwide 50 million/ year company which meant that I stayed pretty busy. I also had the opportunity to lead my own projects."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you get the job expect to do much more work than what is listed in the job description."

What don't you like about working at ACE Controls?

"As stated above the company had minimal upward mobility. There was a lack of organization by the administration which caused job responsibility confusion at times."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Understand the roles of everyone that you're managing so that you can better differentiate the performance level of each employee. Many times at ACE Controls, going over and above the job responsibility was never congratulated because our managers did not understand the technical aspects of our jobs. Also our managers would give incorrect information to us that would be passed onto the customer."
