"I have worked for AboveNet Inc since 2007. I have found this company to be a nice company. Main services included high bandwidth connectivity solutions primarily to large enterprise clients. This company used to provide service in 17 markets in the U.S. and four markets in Europe through fiber optic networks. AboveNet was acquired by Zayo in 2013."
What do you like about working at AboveNet?
"The flexablity of the work location. The office was 15 mins from my house."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"The company was bought by the Zayo group so they do not exist."
What don't you like about working at AboveNet?
"There was not enough oppertunity to get promoted. There was not enough open positons."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"If an employee is hard working, they should be rewarded and recognized."

"That Zayo has purchased a profitable company and to not come in and dismantle and redefine what has worked in the past with much success and to consider the employees continuing employment."

"do not apply for this and do not even try to come work for them."

"everything and anything you can think of the bad company is.."

"stop operating like military. and believe there employees. and stop listening to what other people said."
"Nice while it lasted, but they eliminated virtually all development resources."

"The company was unstable, financially. That added a lot of stress, wondering about layoffs, etc."

"Understand that the person you interview with is not the person you will work for. They lie and put on a facade of welcome then scrutinize your every step, and even when your work is flawless it is still wrong to them."

"The management team that was in place and the complete lack of support to move upward within the company"

"Find another form of support for your life style because you are not a good person and you are worse as a manager and director!"

"The fact that there were new things to do all the time and it was challenging."

"The fact that the industry was in such disarray and the company did not practice good judgement in the finacing of projects."
